PUBLIC LEARNING AGREEMENT · 16 AUGUST 2026

Learn freely. Use biology responsibly.

These plain-language terms explain what STEM Nodes provides, where its boundaries are, and how to protect yourself and other learners.

01

Educational purpose

STEM Nodes is a nonprofit-oriented learning resource. It supports study and scientific reasoning, but it is not medical diagnosis or treatment, emergency advice, a substitute for a teacher, or professional laboratory authorization.

02

Practical safety

Never perform biological, chemical, clinical, environmental-release or animal work solely from an on-screen lesson. Use the risk assessment, supervision, protective equipment and institutional rules required for the activity and location.

03

Learning accounts

Anonymous device learning is optional. Google sign-in is optional and is used only to identify and synchronize a learning journey. STEM Nodes does not request Gmail access. You are responsible for access to your signed-in session and should sign out on a shared device.

04

Responsible use

Do not interfere with the service, automate abusive traffic, attempt to access another learner’s data, bypass progression controls, upload malicious content, or misrepresent the learning material as medical or professional advice.

05

Accuracy and corrections

Biology explanations pass automated and editorial release gates, but science and teaching improve. Use the structured lesson feedback and public Learning Quality Lab to flag accuracy, wording, visual or accessibility concerns.

06

Availability and change

The service may be corrected, expanded, paused or changed to protect learners, data or scientific quality. Learners should export a personal copy of progress before relying on it as their only study record.

07

Content and reuse

Access to the public learning experience does not by itself grant permission to republish the application, artwork or complete curriculum dataset. Separate reuse terms must be published before redistribution.

08

Young learners

The experience avoids public profiles, messaging and free-form personal submissions. Younger learners should use it with a parent, guardian, teacher or school where local rules require supervision or consent.
